Toei Animation Brings ‘Word Trigger’ to MIPCOM

Launched on TV Asahi in Japan on October 5, Toei Animation’s newest animated sci-fi adventure is based on the hit manga created by Daisuke Ashihara.

Launched on TV Asahi in Japan on October 5, Toei Animation’s newest animated sci-fi adventure, World Trigger, will be available to international broadcasters at MIPCOM 2014.

A highly-anticipated series based on the hit manga created by Daisuke Ashihara, World Trigger  begins with the opening of a  mysterious rift that brings our world into collision with a strange and dangerous new universe that’s home to a variety of lethal monsters. Known as the “Neighbors,” these monsters are bent on destroying humanity and taking over earth. As conventional weapons are useless, it takes the formation of a new defense league called “Triggers” to attack the “Neighbors” and bring freedom back to mankind.

“Our aliens don’t come from the sky -- they come from a tear in the universe itself, threatening our planet’s very stake in the solar system,” said Hiroyuki Kinoshita, CEO of Toei Animation. “With a cast of memorable characters, mysteries to uncover in every corner and the stylistic animation that’s been Toei’s trademark for over 50 years, audiences will immediately know that World Trigger is unlike any adventure they ever experienced.”

Toei Animation will present World Trigger at stand R7.L18 in MIPCOM’s Riviera.
