Tiffany Haddish’s Daisy Searches for a Hero in Latest ‘Secret Life of Pets 2’ Trailer

Illumination Entertainment introduces a new character and new mission in the fourth trailer for next summer’s sequel to their 2016 animated hit, ‘Secret Life of Pets.’

Where’s a hero when you need one? Well, for Daisy, a new canine character voiced by Tiffany Haddish in Illumination Entertainment's upcoming The Secret Life of Pets 2, that hero is none other than Captain Snowball!  In the new “Daisy Trailer,” we’re introduced to Daisy as she tracks down Captain Snowball, the not-so-secret alter ego of fuzzy bunny Snowball, voiced by Kevin Hart. At Daisy’s urging, Captain Snowball jumps at the chance to take on a new secret rescue mission that might be a bit more dangerous than he anticipates…

Haddish and Hart, reunited in CG after appearing together in last year’s Night School, display a natural chemistry as they riff off each other when their paths collide and the adventure begins.

Led by Patton Oswalt as Jack Russell terrier Max, the voice cast for The Secret Life of Pets 2 also features Lake Bell as Choe the tabby cat, Bobby Moynihan as Mel the pug, Hannibal Buress as Buddy the dachshund, Eric Stonestreet as Duke the mongrel and Jenny Slate as Gidget the Pomeranian. In addition to Haddish, franchise newcomer Nick Kroll rounds out the film’s cast alongside Harrison Ford as the villainous animal-abusing vet Dr. Francis.

The Secret Life of Pets 2 is produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy, with both director Chis Renaud and writer Brian Lynch returning for the sequel.

Secret Life of Pets opened to a massive $104.4 million in July 2016, according to Box Office Mojo, going to on to earn a total of $368.4 million at the domestic box office. The film also brought in $507.1 million overseas for a global tally of $875.5 million. The Secret Life of Pets 2 arrives in theaters on June 7, 2019.
