TELETOON Airs Banned 'Weinstein' Family Guy Episode

The controversial and previously-banned episode of FAMILY GUY, "When You Wish Upon a Weinstein," will air on Canadian broadcaster, TELETOON, on Dec. 23, 2005, at 9:00 pm and 12:30 am, and again on Dec. 26 at 9:00 pm and 12:30 am.

FOX network censors originally rejected the episode, then allowed it to air in the U.S. after cutting some references they feared would be perceived as anti-Semitic. The uncut episode event was later aired in the U.S. on Cartoon Networks Adult Swim and made its way onto DVD.

In the show, when Peter buys volcano insurance, his wife, Lois, becomes fed up with their constant money problems. When Peter wishes for a Jewish "money guy" to help them, Max Weinstein comes to the rescue. After meeting Max, Peter decides Chris could be successful if he converted to Judaism as soon as possible, but his plans for a quickie bar mitzvah in Las Vegas are foiled by Lois.

Guest voices include Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Ed McMahon as himself, Ben Stein as Rabbi Goldberg, plus Mad alumni Phil Lamarr and Nicole Sullivan.

FAMILY GUY is one of the top three series on TELETOON (www.teletoon.com) for Adults 18-34 and for all Adults 18+.
