TAFFI Announces ‘Red Iron Road Retrospective’

Travel down the road of European horror fiction with the screening of four episodes of the lauded animated anthology at the Toronto Animation Arts Festival International on February 18; the collection of ‘terrifying tales’ heads to theaters and streamers later this year.

The Toronto Animation Arts Festival International (TAAFI) will host a special screening of four episodes of the lauded animated anthology Red Iron Road in a special program entitled the “Red Iron Road Retrospective” on Saturday, February 18.

This event will be one of the last opportunities to see the “harrowing trip down 200 years of European horror fiction” on the big screen in advance of the series’ wider release later this year. The series’ producers, directors, and voice cast will attend the screening with a Q&A with the creative teams held after the screenings.

Created by Aljosha Klimov and Iouri Stepanov, the anthology showcases the visions of 12 directors of 12 different terrifying tales. Stepanov and his studio Lakeside Animation have co-produced the series with Studio Metrafilms. It is slated for theatrical and streaming release later this year.

“Lakeside is thrilled to give Toronto animation fans a sneak peek of our new series,” said Stepanov, “We are immensely proud of the series and all the hard work all the directors and creative teams have put into it. Audiences will never forget their journey along the Red Iron Road.”

The special screening will take place:

  • Saturday, February 18, 2023
