Sundance Channel & ATAS to Showcase College TV Awards

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation will work with Sundance Channel to showcase winning entries of the 28th Annual College Television Awards on Sundance Channel and in a dedicated section of its website. The 28th Annual College Television Awards Gala will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Culver Studios in Los Angeles.

"We're thrilled that Sundance Channel is offering our student winners the opportunity to present their work to a broader audience interested in emerging talent."

Sundance Channel joins mtvU, mtvU Über and Plum TV in becoming a multi-platform distribution partner for the awards show.

This year, mtvU and mtvU Über will continue to feature the 2007 Awards with profiles of the nominees, winners and a behind- the-scenes look at the College Television Awards ceremony. mtvU broadcasts, 24/7 to more than 730 colleges across the country, and is the largest, most comprehensive television network just for college students.

In addition, Plum TV will also air winning works on its channels, which can be seen in Vail, Telluride, Nantucket, Aspen, The Hamptons and Martha's Vineyard.

The College Television Awards recognize excellence in undergraduate and graduate student film/video productions in 10 categories: children's programs, comedy, commercials, documentary, drama, magazine shows, music, newscasts, non-traditional animation and traditional animation. Blue Ribbon Panels composed of top television industry professionals judge all entries at the Television Academy headquarters in North Hollywood, California. First place winners are awarded $2,000, second place $1,000 and third place $500. First and second place winners also receive the Eastman Product Grant sponsored by the Kodak Worldwide Student Program in cooperation with the Television Academy Foundation, which provides first place winners with $2,000 of film stock and second place winners with $1,000 of film stock.
