Online training provider lynda.com has announced the release of Toon Boom Storyboard Pro Essential Training by renowned author Mark Simon.

Simon counts more than twenty-eight years’ experience working in the entertainment industry as a story artist, producer, and director for live action and animation. He has amassed over 3,500 production credits, and also writes and lectures on industry topics.

“It was a pleasure working with industry leader and all around nice guy Mark Simon on this course,” says lynda.com lead content manager James Fritz. “This will be an invaluable resource for everyone who works in the storyboard industry.”

“I’ve been a user of both Storyboard Pro and of lynda.com for many years,” says Simon. “What a treat to work with both at the same time.”

Toon Boom Storyboard Pro is the all-in one storyboarding software created by Toon Boom Animation for planning/pitching both animated and live-action productions. Storyboard Pro cuts storyboarding time down to a fraction of the classic process and extensively relied upon across the industry.

“Mark Simon’s knowledge base of Storyboard Pro is irreplaceable,” states Toon Boom’s VP of sales, François Lalonde. “His love for storyboarding and commitment to Storyboard Pro reflects in the high quality work he has produced for lynda.com. His artistic background in live action and animation production, print, writing and teaching is a valued asset to the Toon Boom team. He has always provided great technical and artistic feedback to our R&D team, contributing to the evaluation of our Emmy Award-winning software.”

“I get emails and calls from artists all over the world asking for details on how to improve their work in Storyboard Pro,” Simon adds. “I designed this course to help everyone from the newbie to the seasoned pro understand more about the amazing abilities of the Storyboard Pro software.”

The Toon Boom Storyboard Pro Essential Training course consists of 67 videos covering topics ranging from the benefits of digital storyboarding to setting up files, to editing on the timeline, to tricks to speed up your work to exporting options.

“It is much easier to help people around the world on how to make the most of Storyboard Pro with this course than with traveling, although I do enjoy traveling,” Simon jokes.
