SpongeBob & Potter Win Nick's Kids' Choice Awards

Slime and stars were featured at the 19th Annual Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards, televised live from the UCLA campus on Saturday night. Will Smith, Lindsay Lohan, Chris Rock, Kelly Clarkson, Drake Bell, Jamie Lynn Spears, Lance Armstrong, Jesse McCartney, Green Day, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, HARRY POTTER were among those who captured the coveted Kids' Choice Blimp Award.

Kids' Choice is the only award show in which kids get to vote for their favorites in movies, television, music, videogames, books and sports. A record-breaking 25 million kids voted in a total of 16 categories on Nick.com and via cell phones by wireless text messaging during the last month.

Selected as this year's Favorite Movie Actor for HITCH, Will Smith walked off with his fifth Blimp. Lindsay Lohan nabbed the award for Favorite Movie Actress (HERBIE FULLY LOADED) and HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE triumphed as Favorite Movie. Chris Rock clinched Favorite Voice in an Animated Movie (MADAGASCAR). Top TV awards went to SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, which was named Favorite Cartoon for the fourth consecutive year. DRAKE & JOSH was chosen as Favorite Show, and its title star Drake Bell as Favorite Actor and to Jamie Lynn Spears (ZOEY 101) went Favorite Actress. Lance Armstrong scored a Blimp for Favorite Athlete. In music, Green Day picked up a pair for Favorite Music Group and Favorite Song (WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS). Jesse McCartney and Kelly Clarkson netted Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Female Singer. The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling took Favorite Book honors.

Chris Rock accepted a second special award, the coveted "Wannabe Award," an annual honor bestowed on a celebrity role model who kids most "want to be." Last year's winner was Will Smith.

In what is becoming a Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice tradition, another world record was with a aerial skiing slime stunt staged remotely. U.S. Olympic Freestyle Aerial Skier Ryan St Onge nailed a gravity-defying freestyle ski stunt off a snowy slope, plunging into a 10,000-gallon tank of Nickelodeon's signature green slime.

To the crowd's delight, slime flowed freely throughout the show, targeting kids in the mosh pit as well as celebs. An elated Adam Sandler got down and messy. In a climactic moment of mess, slime showers splashed down on a surprised Robin Williams drenching him from head to toe, who then turned the green on host Jack Black.

In the "Burping with the Stars" competition, the kid audience who cast their votes during the show on nick.com and wireless text messaging, picked Justin Timberlake (former Burp winner, 2003) as the best belcher over challenger Hugh Jackman (former Burp winner, 2005) in the ultimate burp-off hosted by Tom Bergeron (DANCING WITH THE STARS).

Host Jack Black wowed the audience with his April Fool's Day antics, looking to slime celebs by fooling them. Dressed in Evel Knievel's white racing jumpsuit, Black opened the show with a furious slime-referenced filled version of Elton John's SATURDAY NIGHT'S ALL RIGHT (FOR SLIMING) backed by five kid band members a la SCHOOL OF ROCK. Other musical performances featured at the award show included Pink, Chris Brown and Bow Wow.

Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards is seen in more than 200 million households on Nickelodeon's international channels across the U.K., Europe, Russia, Israel, Asia, Australia, Latin America and Brazil, as well as the U.S. There are seven fully localized versions of Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards around the world. The most recent to launch, Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Honours on CCTV in China, reached more than 300 million households across the country.
