‘Spike Team’ Rolls into Cannes with New Awards & Sales

Lucky Dreams and RAI’s ‘Spike Team’ heads to Cannes with numerous new sales and international awards.

Santa Barbara, CA -- Following hot on the heels of the international launch of Series Two, Spike Team, a joint production between Italy’s Lucky Dreams and RAI, rolls into Cannes with numerous new sales and a slew of international awards. 

With distribution rights shared between Team Entertainment and Foothill Entertainment, the fifty-two episode series is enjoying global success with the inspiring Special Brent’s Dream, which was sponsored by the International Paralympic Committee, being nominated for Best in TV Production at the 38th Annecy Festival of Animation 2014. This uplifting Special about overcoming adversity and achieving one’s dreams, continues to garner attention and shortly after Annecy, it won the prestigious Moige Award in Italy for Outstanding Children’s Entertainment that also conveys strong family values.

Meanwhile, the First and Second series of Spike Team continue to enjoy ratings success on RAI Gulp having received second run orders plus the airing of two episodes every day. These successful runs coupled with the global interest in the Women’s Volleyball World Championships, currently being held in Italy, guarantees increased interest in this amazing sports-themed series. With this growing fan base and award winning performance for broadcasters worldwide, a Third series of Spike Team is already in the works.

At MIPCOM and MIPJunior, Foothill will be representing this marvelous series which is both hilarious and fun but wonderfully empowering and poignant. Additional sales will be announced at the market.
