IMAX Corp. and Warner Bros. Pictures announced that SPEED RACER will open in North America on 84 IMAX screens today, simultaneously with the movie's wide release. The picture will also open internationally in 26 IMAX theatres during the days and weeks following the domestic launch.
SPEED RACER has been digitally re-mastered into the IMAX Experience with IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology. Warner Bros. Pictures will be the exclusive distributor of the film to IMAX theatres worldwide.
From the Wachowskis and producer Joel Silver, creators of THE MATRIX trilogy, comes the live-action family adventure SPEED RACER, which follows the adventures of the young racecar driver Speed (Emile Hirsch) in his quest for glory in his thunderous Mach 5.
