South Park’: Dates Set for 25th Anniversary Pop-Ups, Concert, Immersive Experience

Each event continues the series’ celebratory summer, with shoppable spaces, showcases of rarities from ‘South Park’ Studios, and performances from fan-favorite bands.

South Park Studios and Paramount Global have announced they are launching multiple South Park-themed pop-ups in cities across the globe. Per Deadline, “The South Park 25th Anniversary Pop-Ups will include exclusive merchandise, original artifacts from the series, [and] unique photo ops.”

The first pop-up will open in Mexico City on July 29, with others opening in London on August 12, Berlin on August 19, Tokyo on September 16, and Lucca, Italy on October 28. Each pop-up will be open for one weekend only, from Friday to Sunday.

Comedy Central’s summer celebration of South Park’s 25th anniversary began this past weekend, starting with the first date of an immersive, traveling exhibit on the series that unfolded at Union Square in New York City. The treasured animated series from Trey Parker and Matt Stone is also getting its own tribute concert next month, with bands Primus and Ween joining the co-creators to perform music from the show at Colorado’s Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre.

The immersive exhibit is called “South Park: The 25th Anniversary Experience,” and showcases props, memorabilia, artwork, collectibles, and never-before-seen scripts, storyboards, and concept art. The exhibit is inspired by an actual South Park Studios storage unit -- “housed within a custom fabricated shipping container, giving fans the authentic experience of ‘stepping into the South Park vault for the very first time.’”

Following its first date on July 23, the exhibit will move to Navy Pier in Chicago on Saturday, July 30; Red Rocks Trading Post on Tuesday August 9 and Wednesday, August 10; McGregor Square in Denver on Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13; and Hollywood & Vine in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 20.

The concert, dubbed “South Park The 25th Anniversary Concert,” will be held Saturday, August 13 and will be made available to stream the following day, Sunday August 14, on Paramount+. Per Comedy Central: “Filmed in Colorado at the renowned Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, the concert celebrates the essential role music has played in the series since its debut 25 years ago. Joined by Primus and Ween, Parker and Stone will perform many fan favorites. Primus and Ween will also collaborate with their own songs in honor of their long-standing relationship with South Park.”
