‘Solo’ VFX Supe Rob Bredow to Keynote VIEW Conference 2018

Co-producer of the highly anticipated ‘Star Wars’ feature is the newly appointed head of ILM.

‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ co-producer and VFX supervisor Rob Bredow will deliver a keynote address at the 2018 VIEW Conference.

TURIN, ITALY -- The VIEW Conference announced that Rob Bredow, visual effects supervisor and co-producer for Solo: A Star Wars Story, will deliver a keynote address at the 2018 conference.

Directed by Ron Howard, Solo: A Star Wars Story released May 25.

In addition to supervising the visual effects for this second film in the Star Wars anthology, Bredow was recently appointed senior vice president, executive creative director and head of ILM. Bredow will be in charge of all four of ILM’s global studios.

Bredow joined Industrial Light & Magic as a visual effects supervisor in 2014. He helped launch ILMxLAB in 2015 to develop, create, and release story-based immersive entertainment. In 2016, Bredow was promoted to chief technology officer of Lucasfilm.

The international VIEW Conference, Italy’s premiere event for computer graphics, interactive and immersive storytelling, animation, visual effects, games, VR, AR and mixed reality, brings top professionals from those fields to the baroque city of Turin for a week of talks, presentations and workshops.

This year’s conference takes place Oct. 22-26. Registration is now open.
