Silverwing Series Repackaged Into Movie Trilogy

Bardel Ent. has repackaged its SILVERWING series into a movie trilogy created for both broadcast and DVD/VHS distribution worldwide. Under the creative direction of veteran producer Chris Henderson, the 13x22 series has been edited into three 72-minute movies with Dolby 5.1 surround sound. Henderson recently completed Scholastic Ent.s theatrically released feature film CLIFFORDS REALLY BIG MOVIE and also worked on Disneys RETURN TO NEVER LAND.

The cuts to the series were pivotal so not to take away from any storyline, said Henderson. It was a challenge to edit a chronological series without having to rebuild parts of the story while enhancing the pace to fit the feature film format. We also needed to create more impact for the ending of each movie. We already had an ending for the third movie, which naturally was the end of the series, but we needed two more. They have been created similarly to LORD OF THE RINGS and THE MATRIX trilogies, where the end of one movie is the beginning of another. The script is strong and there are already multiple character arcs much like a feature film, which help to create a true trilogy you must see them all.

Broadcasters around the world are excited about the availability of this flexible format for SILVERWING, said Brenda Wooding of B Wooding Media Ltd. The movie trilogy allows them to launch the series as a three-part movie series. Programmers can then build upon their audience awareness and excitement by airing the entire first season. This, coupled with the gaming website and the book already in circulation around the world, provides the SILVERWING fans a full package of entertainment!

SILVERWING is based on a novel by Ken Oppel, which follows the coming-of-age tale of Shade, who is in search for his father. The book has sold more than 250,000 copies internationally and still remains on the bestsellers' list two years after its initial publication.

The SILVERWING movie trilogy is set to air on TELETOON Canada December 2004. SILVERWING THE TRILOGY is available at the Bardel stand in the Canadian Pavilion Stand 00.01 for MIPCOM 2004. The films are being distributed by B Wooding Media, on behalf of Bardel Distribution. For an appointment at MIPCOM, contact brenda@bwoodingmedia.com. To view the promo, go to www.bwoodingmedia.com.
