The Colombian singer shares that she’s coming back for the ‘Zootopia’ sequel that sees detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile; film hits theaters November 26, 2025.
Shakira will reprise her role as Gazelle in the upcoming Zootopia sequel, Zootopia 2, as announced during Pixar’s panel at last weekend’s D23 Brazil. During the festivities, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Jared Bush introduced a video greeting from the Colombian singer, who shared for the first time that she’d be returning in the new movie.
“I’m here to announce some big news,” Shakira teased in the video. “Are you ready? Gazelle is returning to Zootopia 2. That’s right. Gazelle is back and she’s got a new look, a new song and, of course, new dance moves. Just wait until you see what she and her tiger dancers have been working on. I know you’re going to love it. That’s all I can share for now, but I look forward to seeing you all on my tour next year and I’ll see you at the movies next November.”
The sequel sees detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who turns the mammal metropolis upside down. Ginnifer Goodwin also returns as Judy Hopps, alongside Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde.
Zootopia 2 hits theaters November 26, 2025.
