Sesame Workshop Launches New Int’l Kids Game on Site

Sesame Workshop has made it much easier for kids around the world to have a playdate with Elmo and Big Birds cousins from around the world via the new International section of its Website (www.seaameworkshop.org) featuring a multi-lingual game and information on co-productions of the award winning SESAME STREET.

The FOOTPRINTS game was created as an extension of the Workshops initiative to encourage kids to appreciate cultural diversity. Viewers can choose to play the match game with one of the international characters, who speak in their native language, such as Zeliboba from Russias ULITSA SEZAM, Lola from Mexicos PLAZA SESAMO or Samson from Germanys SESAMSTRASSE.

The site (which receives more than 50 million pages views a month) also provides information on 10 of the Workshops 20+ international co-productions of SESAME STREET. Visitors can choose to view show and character descriptions, family activities and partner information in both English and the language indigenous to the chosen country. SESAME STREET co-productions are developed and produced in conjunction with local researchers and experts in their respective countries. The site will be continually updated as new shows debut.

Sesameworkshop.org is a destination for parents and children to visit with their favorite SESAME STREET characters, said Paul Marcum, vp/gm, interactive media. We are excited to introduce our fans to our extended SESAME family around the world and give them a shared experience.

Founded in 1968, Sesame Workshop first developed the legendary SESAME STREET TV program. The Workshop is behind award-winning programs like DRAGON TALES and SAGWA, THE CHINESE SIAMESE CAT and ground breaking multi-media productions in South Africa, Egypt and Russia.
