Sci Fi, 13th Street Launch on Ziggo in The Netherlands

LONDON -- 29 April 2009 -- NBC Universal Global Networks has today confirmed a significant carriage deal with Holland's largest cable operator Ziggo, which will see its popular channels Sci Fi and 13th Street available to an additional 1.2 million subscribers across the Netherlands.

The agreement significantly increases coverage of its channels in The Netherlands as the long awaited Sci Fi and 13th Street join the well-established Hallmark Channel, currently already available on Ziggo.The move is part of NBCU Global Network's ongoing global channels expansion and central to the company's objective, led by Roma Khanna, President, Global Networks & Digital Initiatives, to grow to around 100 channels internationally in 2010.

Viewers will be able to enjoy a raft of outstanding content including the world's longest running sci-fi series DOCTOR WHO, the smash science fiction fantasy SANCTUARY, the critically acclaimed cop drama THE WIRE and psychological thriller CRACKER -- one of the most highly rated British drama series of recent times.

Since May 2007, Sci Fi in The Netherlands has treated viewers to a fantastic mix of science fiction, fantasy and paranormal phenomena in the form of spectacular films and series. SCI FI has grown to be a powerful channel with a significant fan base and top-class programming. There are top series to be enjoyed right away: STAR TREK: THE ORIGINAL SERIES, STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION, ENTERPRISE, the new BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, TORCHWOOD and DARK ANGEL. Sci Fi will be available in the Extended Basic Tier (Film & Entertainment Pack).

Crime and thriller channel 13th Street focuses primarily on delivering the best crime and suspense content to fans. Viewers can expect action and excitement of the highest order in series such as MONK, HOUSE and LAW & ORDER plus British detectives, including the dark Emmy Award winning series VINCENT. In addition, 13th Street will broadcast serial killer thriller DEXTER along with the award-winning BROTHERHOOD, starring Jason Isaacs. 13th Street will form part of the Basic Digital Pack.

The extension of Ziggo's line-up with Sci Fi and 13th Street comes in addition to existing carriage for the 3 NBCU channels on UPC, CAIWAY, Telenet, Belgacom TV and Numericable.

Sci Fi will be available on channel 122 from 1 May, while 13th Street will be available on channel 16. Hallmark is available on channel 112.
