Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds’ Animated ‘Futha Mucka’ Set at Quibi

Jim and Brian Kehoe’s new adult comedy series, about Reynold’s unrequited love for Jackson, will be produced by Titmouse.

Mobile entertainment platform Quibi has just announced a series order for Futha Mucka, an animated adult comedy series starring Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds. Titmouse will produce the animation; Jim and Brian Kehoe will serve as showrunners, with Anonymous Content and Maximum Effort producing.

Quibi describes the show as follows: Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds love each other. More accurately, Ryan loves Sam. When asked for comment on his feelings for Ryan, Sam said “tell them I couldn’t be reached for comment.” When a minor mishap causes Sam to become Ryan’s primary caregiver, sh*t gets weird. Ryan is delighted to spend all of his time with Sam. Sam couldn’t be reached for comment.

We’ll let you decide.

The two actors are no strangers; they starred together in the 2017 action adventure, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, and reportedly will star with Salma Hayek in the sequel, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. The Kehoe brothers are the comedy writing duo behind the 2018 comedy, Blockers, that starred John Cena and Leslie Mann, and the acclaimed 2015 Funny or Die short, The Comments.

Titmouse, with studios in Burbank, New York City, and Vancouver, is now home to more than 700 people; they’re known for series such as Venture Bros., Big Mouth, Superjail!, Black Dynamite, Tigtone, and Metalocalypse. Back in January, the studio signed a multi-year development deal with Netflix.

Futha Mucka is executive produced by Reynolds, Jackson, the Kehoes (Anonymous Content & Paradigm), Nina Soriano for Anonymous Content, Charlie Scully and George Dewey, Patrick Gooing for Maximum Effort, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoksi and Ben Kalina for Titmouse.
