Salma Hayek has joined the voice cast of Puerto Rico-based Muvi Films SIAN KA'AN that consists of Alfred Molina (FRIDA, Michelle Rodriguez (GIRLFIGHT), Cheech Marin (UP IN SMOKE) and opera legend Placido Domingo. The film will be recorded in both Spanish and English by the bilingual cast.
Hayek will voice the lead Maria, a young girl who must save a golden snail, which is the key to the survival of all living things. Raul Garcia, who worked as a sequence director on THE WILD THORNBERRYS MOVIE and RUGRATS IN PARIS, is directing the film. With Muvi in negotiations with several Hollywood distribution firms, the picture is scheduled to hit theaters in late 2004 or early 2005.
