4Kids Ent., has licensed the new animated TV series, ROLLBOTS from Amberwood Ent., for broadcast in the United States in The CW 4Kids Saturday morning block on The CW Network.
In addition, Amberwood has appointed 4Kids Ent. as the worldwide merchandising and licensing agent and brand manager for ROLLBOTS. The New York-based children’s entertainment organization will manage global licensing opportunities based upon likeness, designs, copyrights, trademarks and all other elements based on the animated television series. 4Kids will work closely with all licensees of the ROLLBOTS brand, including recently signed Master Toy Licensee Mattel.
Commissioned by Canada’s YTV, ROLLBOTS is a computer-generated animated action-comedy with 26 episodes currently in production. ROLLBOTS are perfectly round robots with arm and leg appendages that retract, allowing them to roll at extreme speeds on roller-coaster-like tracks through their world, Flip City.
The series is expected to premiere on TheCW4Kids in the U.S. and on YTV in Canada, in February 2009. ROLLBOTS will be introduced to consumers prior to its TV launch through the ROLLBOTS Online Gaming Experience, produced by Emmy Award-winning Xenophile Media on www.YTV.com. Amberwood Ent. will handle international television distribution, launching it to other territories at the upcoming MIPCOM Jr. 2008 event in October.
