Riki Group, Russia’s leading animation holding company, have inked a deal with an Asian investor to establish a joint venture company.

The newly formed company, Fun Union, will be headquartered in Hong Kong and tasked with carrying out the worldwide development of the KikoRiki, BabyRiki and PinCode animated TV series. From its strong foothold in Hong Kong, Fun Union will reach out to markets across the world, with China and Asian countries immediate priorities for the development of the brands.

“Fun Union’s investment in the project will be channeled into production for new episodes of BabyRiki, PinCode and KikoRiki,” said Ilya Popov, General Producer at Riki Group, “as well as the international development of the IPs, because broadcasters and consumer product manufacturers demand high-quality children’s content.”

“KikoRiki, BabyRiki and PinCode have proven popular and successful in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States,” said Christine Brendle, Fun Union CEO, “These brands are not yet well recognised abroad, which offers a unique opportunity for Fun Union to capture new markets. ”
