Red-Nosed Reindeer Flies With U.S. Postal Service

NEW YORK, NY (November 5, 2010)—Classic Media, a global media company with a portfolio of some of the world’s leading family entertainment brands, and the U.S. Postal Service today announced that DVDs of iconic holiday special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer will be available at more than 5,000 post offices nationwide as part of the U.S. Postal Service’s A Simpler Way to Holiday program.

For customers who opt to ship the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer DVDs with Priority Mail, they will save $2 off the price of the DVD.  The program will be promoted with in-store signage and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer-branded boxes.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is the longest-running holiday special of all time.  Since its television debut in 1964, millions of families across the country have watched The Original Christmas Classic together as part of their holiday traditions, making it a top-rated TV special every year.  The story of “the most famous reindeer of all,” also featuring Hermey the Elf, Yukon Cornelius and the Abominable Snowman, is based on the popular song of the same title by Johnny Marks and includes a world-renowned original musical score by Burl Ives.
