Reap the Rewards with Free VR Experience

The makers of the Limitless VR Creative Environment have released the interactive, animated VR experience, ‘Reaping Rewards,’ available for free on Steam and coming soon to the Oculus store.

SEATTLE, WA -- Limitless LTD, creators of the Limitless VR Creative Environment that enables prototyping and animating interactive characters in VR, has released the interactive, animated VR experience, “Reaping Rewards,” now available for free on Steam, and coming soon to the Oculus store. This release marks the first piece of VR content prototyped and animated within a VR environment, having used the Limitless VR Creative Environment and intuitive VR motion controllers to adjust the look, feel and flow of the story.

“Reaping Rewards” takes the VR viewer through a series of emotional choices as a young Grim Reaper in training, exploring life and death from multiple perspectives. The interactive VR experience was directed by Matthew Ward (Bungie, Imagemovers Digital) and produced by Limitless Ltd. Original music for the film was written and performed by Glen Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket).

“‘Reaping Rewards’ is the first VR project that shows how to use our interactive VR platform to quickly iterate and prototype directly in VR,” said Tom Sanocki, founder and CEO of Limitless Ltd. “For this showcase experience we wanted to push the boundaries of emotional connection in VR, and Matt’s story was a perfect fit. ‘Reaping Rewards’ is so different from anything we’ve seen yet in VR, and it’s been a great example of how our platform creates exceptional gains in efficiency and ease of use.”

“Every filmmaker is looking for fresh new ways to present their story, and VR has so much potential.” said Ward. “It was clear that Limitless wasn’t just focusing their VR platform on engaging character technology -- they were looking for compelling stories to be told through those characters, with the audience taking an active participation in the story. The Limitless VR Creative Environment enabled ‘Reaping Rewards’ to not only engage the audience, but test them.”

Limitless demonstrated the power of the Limitless VR Creative Environment in 2016 with the release of the interactive film, “Gary the Gull,” where the main VR character Gary the Gull was able to respond to human voice, gestures, gaze and more. Last quarter the company partnered with High Fidelity, a 3D virtual world creation platform founded by the creator of Second Life, Philip Rosedale. Under the agreement, Limitless technology enables users of High Fidelity’s open source software toolset the ability to create their own interactive characters within the High Fidelity VR world. The Limitless Creative VR Environment is targeted to film and game developers, as well as to other vertical markets including education, advertising and travel.
