Ibero-American Animation Quirino Awards 2020 responds to COVID-19 by creating a month-long online event.
The third edition of the Ibero-American Animation Quirino Awards will run online from May 25 – June 27. The event, sponsored by the Cabildo de Tenerife through the Tenerife Film Commission, had planned to celebrate its third edition on April 18 in the city of Santa Cruz, but has had to modify its celebration date and format as a consequence of the global COVID-19 pandemic. The month-long event has been dubbed the Quirino month.
Aiming to promote the Ibero-American animation, Quirino month will present different activities for both professionals and the public, including a June 27 awards ceremony which will also serve as a closing ceremony. The event will feature talks about various aspects of the sector; co-production and business forum; dialogues with the finalist works; and for the first time, some of the works will be made available to the public through online platforms.
The complete program, with all the details of speakers, dates, and times will be announced on May 25 – click here for further details.
