Primetime Emmy Noms Announced

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced the 53rd annual Primetime Emmy awards nominations. Nominated for "Animated Program Less Than One Hour" are Nickelodeon's AS TOLD BY GINGER "Hello Ginger," Fox's FUTURAMA "Amazon Women in the Mood," Fox's KING OF THE HILL "Chasing Bobby," Fox's THE SIMPSONS "Homer" and Cartoon Network's THE POWERPUFF GIRLS "Moral Decay & Meet the Beat Alls." The only nomination in the "Animated Program One Hour or More" category was Discovery's ALLOSAURUS: A WALKING WITH DINOSAURS SPECIAL. THE SIMPSONS also nabbed a nod in the "Music Composition for a Series (Dramatic Underscore)" for the "Simpson Safari" episode. UPN's struggling toon GARY & MIKE grabbed a "Music and Lyrics" nomination for the song "Mole Folk Song" from the "New York, New York" episode. In the "Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series" category the nominees were Foxs DARK ANGEL "Pilot," UPNs STAR TREK: VOYAGER "Workforce, Part 1," UPNs STAR TREK: VOYAGER "Endgame," Showtimes STARGATE SG-1 "Small Victories" and Showtimes STARGATE SG-1 "Exodus." Discovery's ALLOSAURUS: A WALKING WITH DINOSAURS SPECIAL, Sci-Fi's FRANK HERBERT'S DUNE: PART 1, CBS' HAVEN: PART 1, A&E's HORATIO HORNBLOWER: MUTINY and TNT's RACE AGAINST TIME all took home nominations for best "Special Visual Effects for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special." The winners will be announced on September 16 in Los Angeles and telecast on CBS in the U.S.
