Prime Focus Gears Up for 'Sin City 2'

With their exclusive VFX partnership for Robert Rodriguez's Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For, Prime Focus World becomes the first Indian company to become an exclusive VFX partner for a major Hollywood project.

Mumbai, India -- Prime Focus World (PFW) is set to hire more than 450 Visual Effects specialists for its prestigious project, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Last month, Prime Focus World announced their exclusive VFX partnership for Robert Rodriguez's long-awaited, ultra-stylized comic book sequel, scheduled to release in August 2014.

This project marks PFW’s position as the first Indian company to become an exclusive VFX partner for a tentpole Hollywood project. Given the magnitude of the work involved, the creative services company is seeking to hire individuals who specialize in compositing, matte painting, modeling, conceptualizing, texturing, lighting, and production coordination. The company will work on more than 2000 visual effects shots for the much anticipated flick, across their global locations.

A major part of the project will be worked on from Prime Focus’ Mumbai facility and the rest of it will be executed from the company’s Vancouver office. Post completion of the Sin City project, the newly recruited team will also have the opportunity to be a part of other Hollywood and Bollywood projects.

For VFX professionals, Sin City is a cult film offering once in a lifetime opportunity to showcase talent and hone one’s creative skills further. It certainly adds irresistible value to a creative professional’s resume. Says Mr. Merzin Tavaria, Chief Creative Director and Co-Founder of Prime Focus, “Sin City 2 is a prestigious project for us since it’s the first time that any Indian company has become an exclusive VFX partner for a Hollywood tentpole project of this scale and pedigree. With this win, we are expanding our team at the Mumbai facility with over 450 employees. These professionals will have the opportunity to travel and work alongside and under the direct supervision of accomplished international VFX talent across our Vancouver and Mumbai facilities.”

Previously, Prime Focus World has worked on some of the most ambitious Hollywood projects such as White House Down, The Great Gatsby, Total Recall, Mirror Mirror, Men In Black 3, Avatar and X- Men.
