Smith Micro Software Productivity and Graphics Group previewed the fourth edition of Poser’s most popular 3D figure, Miki and will unveil Tyler GND, the first male GND (Girl/Guy Next Door) from Poser artist Blackhearted, at the SIGGRAPH 2012 conference in Los Angeles, Calif.

ALISO VIEJO, CA – Smith Micro Software Productivity and Graphics Group previewed the fourth edition of Poser’s most popular 3D figure, Miki and will unveil Tyler GND, the first male GND (Girl/Guy Next Door) from Poser artist Blackhearted, at the SIGGRAPH 2012 conference in Los Angeles, Calif. Smith Micro is inviting the Poser content developer community to join them at their SIGGRAPH booth #1130, to be part of the characters’ success, by creating clothing, hair, poses and additional supporting Poser content for the official launch in September 2012.

“Miki 4 once again sets a new standard in 3D human figures with photorealistic skin textures, exquisitely sculpted body proportions and natural bending provided by Poser’s  powerful Vertex Weight Map rigging system,” said Steve Cooper, Senior Product Manager for Smith Micro Software Inc. “Miki 4 is the most realistic, yet easy to use 3D human character we've ever created and we are very excited to offer our exceptionally talented Poser content development community the chance to be part of the magic behind the scenes for her upcoming release.”

Miki 4 is a completely re-sculpted body morph of Miki 3 with Poser’s powerful Vertex Weight Mapping for superior bending and posing and Subsurface Scattering for photorealistic skin. Miki 4 is Poser Face Room compatible, includes abundant Advanced Body Controls for faster posing, Joint Controlled Morphs for muscle and tendon movement, with an extensive set of facial expressions and phonemes for synthesized speech. For realistic facial close-ups, Miki 4 includes fully modeled eyelashes along with the base Miki 3 face and the new Miki 4 face morph. All existing Miki 3 textures will work with Miki 4.

The first Miki release in August 2005 was part of the limited edition “Miki 10/20 pack” and was an immediate success with users. Since then Miki has continued to evolve and today remains the most commercially successful Poser-related product offered by Smith Micro.

Tyler GND is the latest addition to the Poser family of figures and is the world-premier first male character by Blackhearted. Tyler GND is a custom morph character for Ryan 2, one of the included characters in Poser 9 and Poser Pro 2012. Tyler has been artistically sculpted from head to toe, transforming Ryan 2 from his basic starting point into a chiseled athlete with extraordinary muscular, tendon, bone and vein details.

“There are few Poser artists out there whose work is as well-recognized and well-respected as Blackhearted,” Cooper added. “We’ve been anxious to partner with him for some time now and the entire Poser community is in for a big treat with his first male character. Like Blackhearted's Anastasia GND for Alyson 2, Tyler GND for Ryan 2 is a masterful rework, worthy of top billing in your Poser runtime.”

Created in partnership with Smith Micro, Tyler provides Poser’s powerful Vertex Weight Mapping for superior bending and posing and Subsurface Scattering for photorealistic skin. Tyler is anatomically accurate and includes abundant Advanced Body Controls for faster posing, Joint Controlled Morphs for muscle and tendon movement, with an extensive set of facial expressions and phonemes for synthesized speech.

Poser developers interested in being part of the content team for the September 2012 release of Miki 4 and Tyler GND should visitwww.smithmicro.com/poser/contentdevprogram. Requests will be reviewed by Smith Micro and contacted for notification about the program.

Miki 4 and Tyler GND will be available in September 2012 at Content Paradise.
