Polish Stop Motion Festival Issues Call for Entries

The Se-ma-for Film Festival for stop motion animation issues a call for entries.

LODZ, POLAND -- The Polish Se-ma-for Film Festival has issued a call for entries to the main competition for Best Stop Motion Animation.

The stop-motion animation festival will be held this year October 9-13 in Lodz, Poland. As the festival continues its journey to the roots of animated film, the main focus for this year’s edition is French animation, including animation from French-speaking countries.

The international jury for the competition is comprised of representatives from some of the most recognized companies from around the world, including Cartoon Network Studios and the Nation Film Board of Canada.

This year’s jury includes Rene Chérnier, Executive Producer at the NFB’s French Animation and Youth Studio, one of the most important world organizations investing in development and promotion of animated film, and Brian A. Miller, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cartoon Network Studios. Miller is responsible for international production at Cartoon Network Studios. In his professional career, he has held similar positions at Nickelodeon’s Nicktoons Animation Studio and Hanna-Barbera Studios, overseeing such productions as Spongebob Squarepants, Dexter’s Laboratory, Johnny Bravo and Cow and Chicken.

Filmmakers who want to take part in the International Competition for Best Stop Motion Animation are asked to apply at the Festival website – www.festival.se-ma-for.com. The deadline is June 31st.

The Se-ma-for Film Festival is co-financed by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the City of Lodz and the Polish Film Institute. For more information, visit www.se-ma-for.com.
