Po Reunites with His Poppa in New ‘Kung Fu Panda 3’ Trailer

New trailer introduces J.K. Simmons as the supernatural villain Kai in DreamWorks Animation’s forthcoming CG animated feature, ‘Kung Fu Panda 3.’

A new trailer for DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda 3 has just arrived, giving fans more of Po (voiced by Jack Black) as he is reunited with his estranged father (Bryan Cranston). As teased at the end of Kung Fu Panda 2, there’s a whole panda village waiting to meet Po, but the reunion isn’t all bamboo and laughs when a new evil threatens to obliterate them.

Featuring J.K. Simmons as the supernatural villain Kai, here’s the new Kung Fu Panda 3 trailer from 20th Century Fox:

Directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Alessandro Carloni and written by Jonathan Abel and Glenn Berger, Kung Fu Panda 3 also features the voices of Kate Hudson as Mei Mei (replacing Rebel Wilson), Angelina Jolie as Tigress, Jackie Chan as Monkey, Seth Rogen as Mantis, David Cross as Crane and Lucy Liu as Viper, with Dustin Hoffman reprising his role as Warrior trainer Master Shifu. James Hong and Randall Duk Kim also star.

Here’s the official synopsis:

In 2016, one of the most successful animated franchises in the world returns with its biggest comedy adventure yet, KUNG FU PANDA 3. When Po’s long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. But when the supernatural villain Kai begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible -- learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas!

Kung Fu Panda 3 opens in theaters in 3D on January 29, 2016.
