Platige Image Shares ‘G.O.A.T. Mall – AXE’ Spot

Featuring popular rapper Lil Baby, the men’s cosmetic company’s latest global campaign goes from real to fantasy with VFX, 2D and 3D animation added in post.

Platige Image contributed 2D and 3D animation, VFX, and color correction in post-production on the new global advertising campaign spot for men’s cosmetic brand AXE. The Polish studio’s American team, which has been operating in the U.S. for over a year, landed the commercial.

Using various animation techniques, the studio transferred the agency and director’s out-of-the-box vision from text to screen.

“You just can’t stop staring at it,” shared Art/VFX supervisor Bartosz Krasicki. “It’s due to its colorful and dynamic design but also to a variety of animation techniques used to make it happen. To realize all the ideas in the brief, we applied all possible computer graphics techniques from traditional 2D graphics to complex 3D animation.”

American musician, film director, and YouTuber Mike Diva directed the commercial. The Platige Image team included Krasicki and producer Sonia Marcinkowska. One of the key personalities appearing in the spot is the popular rapper Lil Baby.

“It was a unique project as the client was very open to our ideas,” added Marcinkowska. “Thanks to our extensive experience, we were able to offer many interesting solutions. This freedom while working has brought great results.”

A man in a goat mask, mechanical tigers, a figure with four hands, and dancing animals moving from the fantasy to the real world are just some of the innovative visuals seen in the G.O.A.T. Mall – AXE spot.
