Pixar’s 'Partysaurus Rex' Hits the Web

Disney-Pixar releases “Partysaurus Rex,” the latest “Toy Story Toon” featuring the wet-and wild adventures of Rex.

Disney-Pixar has released Partysaurus Rex, the latest “Toy Story Toon” directed by Mark Walsh.

Released online through Disney Video, the animated short was first screened in 3D before the theatrical re-release of Finding Nemo, and then debuted Monday on the Disney Channel.

Wallace Shawn returns as the toy dinosaur Rex, who enjoys some good, clean fun after he makes friends with some discarded bath toys. The short is full of Pixar’s trademark mix of eye-catching animation, sentimentality, sight gags and clever-one liners, including the obligatory “What’s up, fishes?”

Partysaurus Rex is the latest in a string shorts extending the Toy Story universe. Pixar has also released two other “Toy Story Toons” -- 2011’s Hawaiian Vacation, shown before Cars 2, and Small Fry, which was shown in front of 2011’s The Muppets.
