Philippe Cardon Announces Plans to Leave Warner Home Video

Philippe Cardon, Warner Home Video President, International, will be leaving the company, closing a 23-year career with the studio. Cardon has chosen to keep his family in Europe rather than relocate to Los Angeles as part of a restructuring that will bring closer alignment to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group's home video and digital distribution businesses.

"I am fortunate to have been part of such an innovative company and to have worked with the quality of product that Warner Home Video produces," said Cardon. "The Home Entertainment Group is better positioned for growth now than it has ever been. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside some very talented people and want to thank all of my colleagues throughout the company for their support and friendship."

Prior to his promotion as WHV President, International in 2006, Cardon served as WHV Executive Vice President and General Manager for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA).

"Philippe provided thoughtful and creative leadership as we grew our international presence," said Kevin Tsujihara, President, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group. "He has been a great asset to the Home Entertainment Group and will be missed."

Cardon is credited with solidifying WHV's leadership in the international market and is highly regarded throughout the industry.

"Philippe is someone for whom I have great admiration and I understand his desire to shift his focus at this point in his life," said Sanders. "He helped build our European office, established lasting relationships with key retailers, and leaves behind a track record of enormous success."

Cardon's career with WHV began in 1986 as Deputy Finance Director for Theatrical Distribution for Warner-Columbia Films, in France. Cardon has also served as VP of WHV's Nordic Region, Deputy Managing Director WHV France, and Financial Director. Prior to joining WHV, Cardon worked for Ernst & Young. He holds a graduate degree in Sales and Finance from the EDC School in Paris, and attended the Stanford Executive Program at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, California.
