The ‘Lodge 49’ showrunner is joined by Atomic Monster’s James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett, who will executive produce.
Peter Ocko (Lodge 49, The Office) has boarded Prime Video’s upcoming Robocop series as writer and showrunner. The creative is joined by Atomic Monster’s James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett, who will executive produce. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
The series logline reads, “A giant tech conglomerate collaborates with the local police department to introduce a technologically advanced enforcer to combat rising crime, a police officer who’s part man, part machine.” Positively sunny!
The original Robocop hit theaters in 1987 and follows a cyborg cop in a dystopian future Detroit. The film was followed by two sequels in 1990 and 1993, a reboot in 2014, and four television series.
Amazon gained the rights to Robocop when the company acquired MGM for a whopping $8.45 billion in 2022. Legally Blonde, another inherited title, already has a prequel series on the way at the streamer.
