Peter Curtis and Nick Barrington announce the creation of kids' entertainment company Nurture Rights, along with the company’s acquisition of best-selling literary property Dinosaur Roar!

London, UK -- Producers Peter Curtis and Nick Barrington announced the creation of a new kids entertainment company, Nurture Rights Limited, as well as the company’s acquisition of the best selling literary property Dinosaur Roar!

Nurture will focus solely on kids properties suited to the newer forms of interactive digital media for the international market place. The company is now developing Dinosaur Roar! across a wide range of platforms.

Dinosaur Roar! was first published by Ragged Bears Publishing in 1994 and has been described by its peers as a ‘modern classic’ and ‘a pre-schooler’s introduction to dinosaurs’. Created by Paul Stickland and Henrietta Stickland, the book has sold over 5 million copies worldwide and has been translated into more than 30 languages.

Dinosaur Roar! is the first project to be developed under the Nurture name and the company’s plans include a ground breaking new website, an interactive touring museum exhibition, a 3D IMAX experience and a series of live events. A high quality licensing programme, which builds on the heritage of this special and much loved property, is being developed to run alongside the new activity.Image

Curtis has enjoyed a 25-year career in the children’s television business, developing ideas, producing programmes and delivering award winning content to broadcasters around the world. Curtis previously worked for HIT Entertainment and is a Director of Spellbound Entertainment.

Barrington has had a successful career in commercial and business affairs, sales and distribution and worked for leading producers Endemol and Action Time. Barrington is also a Director of Spellbound.

Peter Curtis says, “We are very excited about our new venture and the acquisition of Dinosaur Roar!. Today’s media environment provides exciting opportunities to tell stories that unfold across a wide range of media and Dinosaur Roar! is particularly well suited to this approach.”

Nurture is now looking to expand its portfolio of children's properties that meet the needs of the new digital marketplace.

Peter Curtis and Nick Barrington’s other company, Spellbound Entertainment, will continue to market the multi award winning series, The Koala Brothers, and will focus on more traditional television led properties.
