Novel Entertainment has signed a key licensing agreement for its hit brand “Horrid Henry” with Paul Lamond Games.

Oxford, UK -- Leading independent producer Novel Entertainment in conjunction with recently appointed agent Caroline Mickler Ltd. has signed a key licensing agreement for its hit brand Horrid Henry with Paul Lamond Games.

The games producer has picked up the rights to Games and Puzzles and will launch four new jigsaws early next year  - 2 x 100 piece and 2 x 250 pieces - followed by a Horrid Henry board game.

Mike Watts, MD of Novel Entertainment says: “Horrid Henry continues to appeal to kids in the UK as well as worldwide and they have fun playing his games across all media. We are confident that these new traditional puzzles and games will be as much of a success as Henry’s various computer games and apps.”

Richard Pain, MD of Paul Lamond adds:“We are delighted to be welcoming Horrid Henry on board and to be adding to our portfolio of children’s games and puzzles with this internationally successful brand. We are looking forward to bringing the traditional games and puzzles for this colourful and iconic character to market early next year and we are confident that fans will love these exciting new arrivals.”

The launch of these new puzzles follows the success of the Horrid Henry Nintendo computer games and the release of the iPhone app, ‘Horrid Henry’s Horrid app’ which reached number 2 in the iPhone kids chart.

The third series of 52 x 11 minutes of the animated television show is currently airing on ITV1 and CITV and there are now a total number of 156, making Horrid Henry one of the biggest animated children’s shows ever in the UK. Novel’s 3 times BAFTA nominated TV show is the most successful series ever for CITV Channel and the brand has been extended to include film, stage, radio, online as well as being at the heart of a successful licensing and merchandising programme.

The TV show continues to roll out worldwide and has been bought by networks across the globe including Cartoon Network’s Asia Pacific region, ZDF Germany, RTE Eire, Mediacorp Singapore, RUV Iceland, NRK Norway, SVT Sweden, YLE Finland, RTP Portugal, TVP1 in Poland, Iconix in Korea and Digiturk in Turkey.
