‘Over the Garden Wall,’ ‘Adventure Time’ Win Creative Arts Emmys

Cartoon Network wins big at the 2015 Creative Arts Emmy Awards with ‘Over the Garden Wall’ and ‘Adventure Time’; HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ and FX’s ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ win in the VFX categories.

Cartoon Network scored big at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony this past weekend as the network picked up awards for Outstanding Animated Program for its Over the Garden Wall miniseries and Outstanding Short-Format Animated Program for Adventure Time.

The winners of the 2015 Creative Arts Emmy Awards were presented at the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles.

Voice actor veteran Hank Azaria received an award for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance for The Simpsons episode “The Princess Guide.”

In visual effects, HBO’s Game of Thrones was awarded a whopping eight statuettes, including for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for the episode “The Dance of Dragons,” while FX’s American Horror Story: Freak Show won five awards, including Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role for the episode “Edward Mordrake, Part 2.”
