Women animators from emerging animation communities in Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America are invited to apply for the program that runs June 11-18 in Annecy; deadline for entries is April 8.
FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers’ Associations) in collaboration with Women in Animation, have teamed up - with support from Walt Disney Studios and Triggerfish Animation - to launch "Stories x Women.” The initiative supports access to international opportunities for stories told by women animators from emerging national film and audio-visual animation communities in Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. The objective is to offer these creators additional access to international opportunities at the 2022 edition of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
Using the festival platform, “Stories x Women” plans to create momentum and move the industry one step closer toward a world where women (in the sense of the Women in Animation’s definition, i.e., all underrepresented genders, including women, non-binary, and transgender people) share equally in the creation of and production of animation and have access to the resources and connections to make that happen.
Six (6) delegations will be selected, composed of women creators who are citizens of eligible countries and have pitch-ready projects that are either an animated feature film or series. Applications will be assessed by a selection committee made up of various international industry stakeholders.
The program runs from June 11-18 and includes participating in the Women in Animation World Summit on June 13. Throughout the week, the selected candidates will have access to the robust network that Annecy offers and will be able to connect with a wide range of decision makers.
The deadline for applications is April 8, 2022 (11:59 P.M. Central Europe Summer Time / GMT+2).
