One Animation Expands Licensing Agent Network

Award-winning studio appoints licensing agents for Europe, Middle East, North Africa and Latin America.

SINGAPORE -- One Animation announced it has signed licensing agency agreements with three consumer products agents as it quickly expands its IP licensing activity. Copyright Promotions and Licensing Group (CPLG) has been appointed to cover most of Europe and the Middle East and North Africa. Whilst Tycoon and International Merchandising Consultants (IMC) Partnerships have been signed to handle Latin America.

The focus for the agents will be to develop a full-scale licensing program across a wide range of consumer products based on One Animation’s globally successful animation series, Oddbods. The contracts with Tycoon, IMC and CPLG cover all product and promotional categories with retail store roll-out anticipated to begin in 2016.

“We expect to see products from the Oddbods range, in stores from Summer 2016,” explains Sashim Parmanand, CEO of One Animation. “This will be a major milestone for the development of the business and highlighting that our globally successful creative outputs, such as Oddbods and Insectibles, are loved by audiences and are highly marketable in a variety of formats.”

The news follows a series of announcements throughout 2015 and into 2016 showing the growing global fanbase for One Animation shows.

Steve Manners, executive vice president, CPLG commented, “We are excited to be partnering with One Animation on Oddbods in several of our markets.  Their strengths are the story-telling and characterization that go into all its productions, which makes shows such as Oddbods such a source of huge potential in terms of licensing. We are expecting lots of interest with some further exciting announcements to come later this year.”

“We’ve already had interest from the L&M industry and we anticipate further interest as we progress through Q1’16,” said Elias Fasja, President Tycoon Enterprises. “We made our name by bringing the most exciting and versatile brands to market and it is this excitement and versatility that we can see in One Animation’s properties.”

Leonardo Gutter, president of IMC, concluded, “2016 is shaping up to the be an exciting year for the licensing industry. The demand is there for brands that appeal to consumers around the world, whatever their age. Oddbods in particular is an incredibly strong concept because it can be made to work across so many different formats and platforms.”
