NYT’s T Brand Studio Seeks Animators for Second Iteration of ‘Selects’ Program

Brand marketing unit of ‘The New York Times’ seeking animators for its advertising-based Selects program.

T Brand Studio, the brand marketing unit of The New York Times, is seeking animators for its Selects program, which gives creative professionals the chance to work with the Studio on advertising-based client projects.

T Brand is looking for animators who tell stories in exciting, innovative and highly visual ways. Animators/studios must submit one reel and two projects that encapsulate their work. One project must be short-form (under 60 seconds). The open submission period is March 1-31, 2017. Submissions can be made at tbrandstudio.com/the-selects-2017.

The Selects launched in 2015 when T Brand put out a call to directors and cinematographers to share their work for a chance to collaborate on Studio projects. Since then, those Selects have worked on more than 20 films with the Studio for clients such as CartierBelvedere and UBS.

Previous T Brand Studio animation work includes a mixed-media video for Franklin Templeton on a 225-year-old investment; a wellness guide for Fairlife; and a look at the “History of Spinny Things” for Pure Storage.
