Nominations Announced for 69th Emmy Awards

Five series are nominated for Outstanding Animated Program, including FX’s ‘Archer,’ FOX’s ‘Bob’s Burgers’ and ‘The Simpsons,’ Disney Channel’s ‘Sofia The First’ and Comedy Central’s ‘South Park.’

The Television Academy today announced nominations for the 69th Emmy Awards from the Wolf Theatre at the Television Academy’s Saban Media Center. Anna Chlumsky and Shemar Moore were joined by Television Academy Chairman and CEO Hayma Washington at the nominations ceremony.

The 69th Emmy Awards will telecast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, Sunday, September 17 (8:00-11:00 PM ET/5:00-8:00 PM PT) on CBS. Stephen Colbert will serve as host. The 69th Emmy Awards is produced by White Cherry Entertainment. Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner are executive producers; Weiss is director; and Chris Licht, executive producer of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, is a producer.

Five series were nominated for Outstanding Animated Program, including FX’s Archer for the episode “Archer Dreamland: No Good Deed,” FOX’s Bob’s Burgers for “Bob, Actually,” and The Simpsons for “The Town,” Disney Channel’s Sofia The First for “Elena and the Secret of Avalor,” and Comedy Central’s South Park for the groundbreaking “Member Berries” episode.

Nominees for Outstanding Short Form Animated Program are Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time for the “Islands Part 4: Imaginary Resources” episode, Disney Channel’s Mickey Mouse for “Split Decisions,” the Disney XD app’s Marvel's Rocket & Groot for “Space Walk,” CN’s Steven Universe for “Mr. Greg,” and CN’s Teen Titans Go! for the “Orangins” episode.
