New Video Showcases Method’s Effects for ‘The Maze Runner’

Method Studios was involved in the creation of 150 character shots and 380 environment shots for the YA adaptation.

Wired.com has released a new video featuring FX Guide’s Mike Seymour as he walks us though some of the visual effects created for 20th Century Fox’s The Maze Runner.

Directed by Wes Ball, The Maze Runner is based on James Dashner's 2009 book of the same name. Method Studios was involved in the creation of 150 character shots and 380 environment shots for the YA adaptation, put together under the leadership of Method VFX supervisor Sue Rowe and animation director Erik de Boer.

Part of Wired’s Design FX series, the video breaks down the technology used to build the mechanical Grievers and complex maze set featured in the film. Watch it, below:
