New Trailer Drops for ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’

‘Maze Runner’ trilogy director Wes Ball breathes new life into the venerable franchise with a story set several generations after Caesar’s reign, when a tyrannical ape leader builds his empire… but one young ape has other ideas; hitting theaters May 24, 2024.

We once again return… to the return… to The Planet of the Apes! And we couldn’t be happier!

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, the newest entry in the Planet of the Apes franchise hits theaters on May 24, 2024. Set several generations after Caesar’s reign, when apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans live in the shadows, a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire... and one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all he has known about the past and make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

Directed by Wes Ball (Maze Runner trilogy), Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes stars Owen Teague (IT), Freya Allan (The Witcher), Kevin Durand (Locke & Key), Peter Macon (Shameless), and William H. Macy (Fargo).

The screenplay is by Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds), Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (Avatar: The Way of Water), and Patrick Aison (Prey), based on characters created by Jaffa & Silver. The producers are Ball, Joe Hartwick, Jr. (The Maze Runner), Jaffa, Silver, and Jason Reed (Mulan), with Peter Chernin (Planet of the Apes trilogy) and Jenno Topping (Ford v. Ferrari) serving as executive producers.

Halon Entertainment is handling the visualization: visual effects are being produced by Wētā FX with Erik Winquist serving as VFX Supervisor, Danielle Immerman as VFX Producer, and Paul Story as Animation Supervisor.
