New Strata Apps turn Illustrator, Photoshop into 3D Design Applications

Press Release from Strata

St. George, Utah -- Strata, the company adding the power of 3D to the designer's toolset, today released two powerful applications that plug-in to Adobe's Illustrator and Photoshop applications. Strata Design 3D CX connects to Photoshop with six plug-ins as well as being a stand-alone application. Strata Enfold 3D CX is multi-featured plug-in for Illustrator that adds a 3D view palette, two new tools and a host of menu commands focused on folding print designs. The release of these two products marks a major upgrade to Strata's 3D CX Suite of 3D tools.

In this latest version of Strata Design 3D CX the rendering engine has been taken to a whole new level. Faster, easier to control and more effects like photon-based lighting - along with established features like depth-of-field blur, motion blur and particle effects - all at up to four times faster than before. And with a new interface that Adobe users will recognize, the improved workflow between Strata Design 3D CX, Photoshop and Illustrator will further increase productivity.

This Strata Design 3D CX upgrade includes several powerful "connect to Photoshop" features as well as other important enhancements to the venerable 3D application. Working in concert with these new Strata Design 3D CX features, the upgrade also includes six Photoshop plug-ins.

"Never in our history have we been so proud of a software release," states Ken Bringhurst, Strata's President. "This powerful new workflow between Strata Design 3D CX and Adobe's design products is a giant leap forward for our installed base. This upgrade reinforces Strata's position as the best 3D solution for the design and illustration market."

Strata also released today Strata Enfold 3D CX. Powered by patent-pending technology developed by EskoArtwork, Strata Enfold 3D CX creates professional folded 3D designs directly in Adobe Illustrator. Users can link Photoshop graphics applied to 2D Illustrator artwork, define die-cut lines and folding scores, and then see it in 3D directly in Illustrator. Print ready designs can then be sent for production and the file can be exported for further use in Strata Design 3D CX or other products that can import a U3D file.

"The package design market understands that the best packaging comes from interaction between product and packaging designers," explains Arjen Maarleveld, EskoArtwork Senior Vice President Products. "The new open interface to the Strata structural format now makes our solutions accessible to designers who work with Strata tools. Strata Enfold 3D CX makes available high powered EskoArtwork technology to a much broader market."
