Motion Theory recently worked with 180 LA on the new Sony VAIO 2008 campaign -- where technology and biology combine to evolve Sony products. FLYTRAP just launched this week and VINES launched in theaters during the release of THE DARK KNIGHT
In the VINES spot, a BRAVIA HDTV starts to grow electronic vines, picks up a Blu-ray Disc player and brings it to its screen. Once there, the screen and Blu-ray Disc player fuse before the vine-like wires retract to reveal the marriage of BRAVIA HDTV and Blu-ray Disc technology to create a new product - the Sony VAIO LT HD PC/TV. The VAIO LT features a BRAVIA screen and Blu-ray Disc player for a product that’s part HDTV and part computer.
In the FLYTRAP spot, 180LA has paralleled this metamorphosis by showcasing a BRAVIA HDTV screen that opens as a Venus flytrap and consumes the Blu-ray Disc player sitting on the credenza in front of it. As the flytrap digests the Blu-ray Disc player, a transformation happens and the new Sony VAIO FW Notebook -- a laptop with an extra wide BRAVIA screen and Blu-ray player -- is revealed.
