Press release from New Eden Series:

After several weeks of building an online following, this week saw the debut of the pilot episode of hilarious new animated sci-fi web series New Eden.

New Eden follows the adventures of bickering odd couple Murray and Hamilton, two starship crewmen marooned and fighting for their lives on a primordial world after their starship crash lands on the wrong planet.

A labor of love for independent creative duo Brett Snelgrove and Freek van Haagen, the New Eden pilot is inspired by their love of off-kilter comedy and a childhood of watching of science-fiction cartoons.

New Eden’s Dutch animator and co-creator Freek describes New Eden as “what would happen if two nobodies from the Starship Enterprise got themselves marooned on an alien planet all because one of them pressed the wrong button while the other was off taking a leak.”

Working with branded content agency Krempelwood, Brett and Freek hope to align a sponsor with New Eden to turn it into web series.

London-based Australian and fellow co-creator Brett says, “We’ve got ten episodes scripted, budgeted and ready to go into production.”

To celebrate the launch of the New Eden pilot the creative duo will be releasing a series of New Eden Short Films as well as a New Eden Facebook Game.

Freek says, “We wanted to come up with a way to reward our fans for their support but knew we couldn’t produce more episodes. That’s when we hit upon the idea of the animated shorts and the Facebook game.”

Brett says, “We’ve got some other cool ideas in the pipeline as well and over the next couple of months we’ll be working our butts off to win over as many people as possible.”

Freek adds, “Fan support is the number one thing that will help us attract a sponsor. So all people need to do if they want to see a New Eden series is watch, like and share the pilot."

Fans can connect with New Eden on FacebookTwitter and Google+ and watch the pilot on the New Eden website as well as YouTube and Vimeo.

Fans can also follow the New Eden blog for all the latest news and updates.

The New Eden Shorts and Facebook Game are planned for release in late June.
