Fathom Events and GKIDS add third showing of director Hayao Miyazaki’s Oscar-winning film on Thursday, December 8th; 15th Anniversary event to include ‘Ghiblies: Episode 2’ short.
Due to overwhelming demand, Fathom Events and GKIDS have added a third showing to the Spirited Away: 15th Anniversary event bringing the Academy Award-winning Studio Ghibli animated feature directed by Hayao Miyazaki back to cinemas nationwide.
Joining the previously-announced screenings on December 4th & 5th across more than 400 screens, the influential Japanese anime fantasy film will now also play on Thursday, December 8th at 7:00 p.m. on an additional 200 screens.
Screenings on Sunday, December 4 at 12:00 p.m. (local time) will feature an English-language dub, while screenings at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, will feature English-language subtitles. Tickets for the third screening -- which will also be dubbed in English -- will be available soon, and can be purchased on the Fathom Events website.
Following the full-length feature, attendees will see an exclusive short film, Ghiblies: Episode 2, never-before released in North America. Watch a clip from the short, which runs 20 minutes in full, in the player below:
