New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival Now Accepting 2016 Submissions

Deadlines for short film submissions to a one-of-a-kind international animation festival located in the New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido, Japan, is June 30.

HOKKAIDO, JAPAN -- The New Chitose Airport has announced a call for entries for the New Chitose Airport International Film Festival 2016, taking place November 3rd – 6th. The main event of the festival is the competition for short animated films. Last year the festival accepted more than 1,100 films from 59 countries/regions. Teeth, directed by Tom Brown and Daniel Gray, won the Grand Prix and Zdravstvuite!, directed by Yoko Yuki, got Japan Grand Prix.

The New Chitose Airport is truly unique among its kind, acting as a gateway for the world to access Hokkaido, the northern landmass of Japan, the Airport also hosts a variety of facilities. A multi-screen movie theater, hotel, Onsen bath spa, arcade, shopping mall, restaurants and event spaces are among the many things that New Chitose Airport has in store for its visitors. The airport has also begun hosting a one-of-a-kind international animation festival. The airport provides a festival experience that cannot be replicated in any other environment. This one of a kind event has been garnering the attention of professionals and experts in the field of animation, as well as competition from the highly acclaimed and talented animation artists all over the world.
