Producer Peter Hoffman is in works to bring William Gibson's groundbreaking sci-fi classic, NEUROMANCER, to the big screen, VARIETY reports. Joseph Kahn (TORQUE) has signs on to direct.
The novel follows the story of out-of-work computer hacker Henry Dorsett Case, who is hired by an anonymous individual to commit a nearly impossible caper. The novel examines the concepts of artificial intelligence, virtual reality, bio-engineering, multinational corporation abuse of power and immortality.
Hoffman's Seven Arts will fund the $70 million picture, which is being fast tracked into production.
