Netflix’s ‘Inside Job’ Cancelled After One Season

The adult-animation comedy was the first in-house series for Netflix Animation Studios, as well as the first project produced through creator and showrunner Shion Takeuchi’s overall Netflix deal.

Barely two weeks into the new year, and yet another animated series has been cancelled. This time, adult-animation conspiracy comedy Inside Job has been axed at Netflix after only one season, despite a renewal last June. Creator and showrunner Shion Takeuchi (Gravity Falls, Disenchantment) recently took to Twitter to announce the sad news.

“I’m heartbroken to confirm that Netflix has decided to cancel Season 2 of Inside Job,” Takeuchi laments. “Over the years, these characters have become real people to me, and I am devastated not to be able to watch them grow up.”

The show was the first project produced as part of Takeuchi’s 2018 Netflix deal, and the first adult animation series created in-house by Netflix Animation Studios. Co-executive produced by Takeuchi and Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch, the series follows a dysfunctional team working for a shadow government whose daily grind consisted of committing the world’s conspiracies, featuring the voices of stars Lizzy Caplan, Christian Slater, and Clark Duke.

All 18 episodes of Inside Job are streaming now on Netflix.
