Netflix’s ‘Geeked Week 2023’ Showcase Day 2 Roundup

The programming updates come in hot for a second day, with even more exciting reveals and announcements for 15 of the streamer’s upcoming film and series projects, including ‘3 Body Problem,’ ‘Masters of the Universe: Revolution,’ ‘Blue Eyes Samurai,’ and ‘The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep.’

Netflix’s Geeked Week 2023 kicked off Monday, November 6, with the week-long virtual event highlighting the most anticipated genre titles across films, series, and games. 

During the first day of showcases on ThursdayNetflix revealed teaser trailers, art, or new images for an entire slate of new film and series projects, including ‘Ultraman Rising,’ ‘Arcane,’ ‘Jurassic World: Chaos Theory,’ and more.

On Friday, Netflix brought an entire new roster of reveals.

3 Body Problem

An all-new clip and teaser art were revealed for the upcoming series from Emmy Award-winning creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, streaming March 21, 2024. Check out the exciting new content here.

The Brothers Sun

Netflix released an all-new teaser for the live-action series starring Michelle Yeoh and premiering January 4, 2024. Created by Brad Falchuk and Byron Wu, the series follows Charles Sun, a Taipei gangster who's settled into his life as a ruthless killer, but must go to L.A. to protect his mother and younger brother after his father was shot by a mysterious assassin.

Obliterated

The exclusive scene ‘Party Bus’ was shared for the new original series from the creators of Cobra Kai, premiering November 30, 2023.

Obliterated is a high-octane action-comedy following an elite special forces team who thwarts a deadly threat to Las Vegas. After their celebratory party, filled with booze, drugs, and sex, the team discovers that the bomb they deactivated was a fake and must fight through their impairments to find the real bomb -- and save the world.

Leave the World Behind

Netflix dropped an exclusive clip for the upcoming end-of-the-world thriller starring Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, Myha’la, and Kevin Bacon. The feature lands on Netflix December 8, and asks the question, ‘are the animals trying to warn us?’

Code 8 Part II

An all-new teaser was revealed for the second installment of Code 8 Part I reuniting Robbie Amell and Stephen Amell on-screen. The sequel features returning writer and director Jeff Chan.

In a world where 4% of the population are born with abnormal powers and heavily policed by high-tech robotics, an ex-con teams up with the drug lord he despises to protect a young girl from a corrupt police sergeant.

Masters of the Universe: Revolution

Netflix teased its upcoming entry to the Kevin Smith’s ‘He-Man’ franchise from Mattel Television, animated by Powerhouse Animation. The animated series, launching on January 25, 2024, follows He-Man as he battles a newly mechanized Skeletor and the Horde Empire. Check out the image and official teaser here.

Onmyoji

The clip ‘Seimei and Hiromasa Meet in Episode 2’ was revealed for the upcoming anime adaptation of Baku Yumemakura's acclaimed series of novels. Premiering on November 28, this series promises to captivate audiences with its unique blend of history, mysticism, and an epic battle against menacing demons.

Akuma Kun

The clip ‘Akuma Kun and Mephisto III in Trouble!’ was shared for the animated series based on the original comic by Chigeru Mizuki.

Strange requests often find their way to the doors of the Millenarianism Research Institute. The leader of the institute, Ichiro Umoregi, also known as "Akuma Kun," is a prodigy that only comes along once every 10,000 years. However, he doesn't know his real family. Along with his partner Mephisto III, Akuma Kun takes on mystical cases while digging into his own origins in this bizarre detective buddy story. Encourage Films animates the series from Toei Animation.

Blue Eye Samurai

The BTS fight choreography featurette ‘Making of a Warrior’ was shared, starring supervising director Jane Wu as he immerses audiences into the project’s unique live-action hybrid stunt. The 8-episode adult animation series, set in Edo-period Japan, tells the story of a master of the sword who lives a life in disguise while seeking revenge; it premiered November 3 - watch it now!

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep

Netflix has announced the next animated film in the Witcher franchise, set to release globally in late 2024. Doug Cockle, the iconic voice of the Witcher video games, returns to voice Geralt of Rivia in the feature, based on Witcher author Andrzej Sapkowski’s short story ‘A Little Sacrifice,’ set to release globally in late 2024. Yu Yu Hakusho

A teaser trailer was released for the live-action adaptation of the legendary smash-hit manga from Weekly Shonen Jump. This series of unprecedented scale is brought to life by an all-star cast that includes Takumi Kitamura, Jun Shison, Kanata Hongo, Shuhei Uesugi, Kenichi Takito, Goro Inagaki and Go Ayano, and streams December 14.

Blood of Zeus

A clip was shared for the upcoming second season, showing Heron as he reflects on the war for Olymous and his battle with Seraphim, and channels his new demigod powers.
