Netflix Shares ‘Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio’ Poster

Ewan McGregor, Tilda Swinton, and Cate Blanchett star in the stop-motion fantasy reimaging of Carlo Collodi's classic tale about a wooden marionette who is magically brought to life; coming to the streamer and select theaters in December.

Netflix has shared a new poster from Oscar-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro’s stop-motion fantasy, Pinocchio, a reinvention of Carlo Collodi's classic tale of the wooden marionette who is magically brought to life to mend the heart of a grieving woodcarver named Geppetto. The highly anticipated movie arrives on Netflix and at select theaters December 9.

The whimsical, stop-motion musical, directed by del Toro and award-winning stop-motion animator Mark Gustafson, follows the mischievous and disobedient adventures of Pinocchio in his pursuit of a place in the world.

The star-studded cast features the voice talents of Ewan McGregor; Christoph Walt; Gregory Mann; David Bradley; Tilda Swinton; Cate Blanchett; Finn Wolfhard; John Turturro; Ron Perlman; Tim Blake Nelson; and Burn Gorman.

Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio is directed by Del Toro and Gustafson and is written by Del Toro and Patrick Hale. Producers include Del Toro; Lisa Henson (Jim Henson Company); Gary Ungar; Alex Bulkley; and Corey Campodonico (Shadow Machine), with Jason Lust serving as executive producer.

The production design is by Guy Davis, with Curt Enderle as the co-production designer. The art director is Robert DeSue, the animation supervisor is Brian Leif Hansen, the director of photography is Frank Passingham, and the director of character fabrication is Georgina Hayns. The composer is Alexandre Desplat.
