Netflix Sets ‘Hilda’ Final Season Premiere Date

The third and last outing of the beloved animated series, which follows a fearless blue-haired girl as she travels from her home into a vast magical wilderness full of elves and giants, streams exclusively on Netflix December 7.

Are you ready for one final adventure? Netflix has announced that the third and final season of Hilda, the Emmy-winning animated series adaptation of Luke Pearson’s graphic novel series, will premiere exclusively on the streamer December 7.

"The production of Hilda, much like the show's central storyline, has been a long, winding journey — and a deeply rewarding one at that," said Kurt Mueller, EVP, Creative Content, Sony Pictures Television — Kids in a statement.

"While it is always tough to see the end of a series that has been so professionally gratifying, we are thrilled to showcase the latest epic adventures of our heroine Hilda in this final season at the Ottawa International Animation Festival and for audiences around the world to be entertained when the series premieres on Netflix later this year," added Chantal Ling Vice President, Original Series & Co-Productions, Mercury Filmworks.

The 2D animated series follows the adventures of a fearless blue-haired girl as she travels from her home in a vast magical wilderness full of elves and giants, to the bustling city of Trolberg, where she meets new friends and mysterious creatures.

Co-produced by Silvergate Media and Mercury Films, Hilda features the voice talents of Game of Thrones’ Bella Ramsey in the title role of Hilda and a theme song by Grimes. The series debuted on Netflix in September 2019 and secured a second season commission within a month of launch; the show won two Daytime Emmy’s including Outstanding Children’s Animated Series plus three Annie Awards including Best Animated TV Production for Children. The epic animated movie special, Hilda and the Mountain King, launched globally on Netflix December 2021.

Hilda Season 3, which includes seven-episodes and a 70-minute special, streams exclusively on Netflix December 7.
